SUNDAY XVIII and the GREAT ITALIAN FEAST

...of the Patrons of Fornelli, SS. Pietro Martire e Domenico Abate!

The brass trio will be on hand at the 5 PM Mass this Saturday.  Dinner up the street (West Valley Inn) follows.  I hope that stretch of Providence Street near our church is finally paved.  I went to the church this morning, then used Wakefield Street to go to town from there.

MUSIC FOR HOLY MASS

Although the Mass honoring SS. Pietro e Domenico is on Saturday, the music will be the same (on the most part) for all the weekend Masses.

Sung Ordinary of the Mass: Messa Populare "Laus Tibi Christe", music by Federico Caudana
- This weekend only.  Next weekend it's back to English (KISS = "Keep it Simple Summer")
- At the 5:00 Mass, the Memorial Acclamation will be in Italian!
Alleluia (for August and September): a rather pompous rendition of an alleluia set to music by Fr. Lucien Deiss, C.S.Sp.  (The brass even get a part in this on Saturday!)

Numbers given are in the red hymnal ("Worship").

Entrance hymn: For all the saints, #705
Psalm 78: The Lord gave them bread from heaven, music by Richard Rice
Offertory hymn: By all your saints still striving, #706
Communion anthem: I cieli immensi, music by Benedetto Marcello
- "The heavens declare the glory of God..." (Psalm 19) is the translation.
Meditation hymn: Jesus, my Lord, my God, my All, #488
Recessional hymn: Holy God, we praise thy Name, #524

Peace,
