SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT

This is my second favorite Sunday of Lent, in which the Gospel of the Transfiguration is read (this year, according to Matthew).  You'll notice that a couple of hymns with lesser familiar texts are sung to tunes we have sung enough times before.

MUSIC FOR HOLY MASS

Sung Ordinary of the Mass and Gospel Acclamation same as last week.

Entrance hymn: The glory of these forty days, Maroon #61 (Listen)

Psalm 33: Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you, music by Richard Proulx (antiphon) and Pére Joseph Gelineau, SJ.  Worship, #790

Offertory hymn: O wondrous type, O vision fair, Maroon #119 (Listen)
- This is the same tune as O Jesus, joy of loving hearts, which we have sung often from the red Worship hymnal.

Communion anthem: Soul of my Savior 
- a translation of the Latin Anima Christi.  The harmony we'll be using is from the Pius X Hymnal.

Meditation hymn: O God, unseen yet ever near, Maroon #198 (First Tune) 
- This hymn is sung to a hymn we sang just last week, Lord, who throughout these forty days 

Recessional hymn: We sing the praise of him who died, Maroon #340 (Listen)
