Action-Packed Four-Day Weekend

The first list, that for the "Feria V of the First Week of Advent" is actually at SS. John and James in the Arctic section of town.  This Mass was announced in this past Sunday's Sacred Heart bulletin.  It will be celebrated by Fr. Derek Puleo, who has celebrated Mass at Sacred Heart on several occasions.  The organist for that Mass is yours truly.

Thanksgiving Day and I Advent

This Thursday, Thanksgiving Day here in the United States, we have one Mass at 9 AM.  It's also the last day of the Laus Tibi Christe Mass, for a time. 😉
For the season of Advent, we'll be keeping it simple by using Mass XVIII (the simplest set of Mass chants).

Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

This weekend, we have our brass trio for three of our Masses, as well as a substitute soprano.

Our substitute soprano is Eden Casteel.  Eden is very accomplished in voice and piano, not only in performance, but in teaching as well.  Each summer, she also writes a children's musical called Quonnie.  And yes, she is also well-versed in sacred music.  She even substituted for me at the organ bench one weekend in the summer of 2014.
