Sunday XXIX

 MUSIC FOR HOLY MASS

ORDINARY OF THE MASS:
Gloria: recited or Holy Angels Mass (BMP)
Sanctus, Amen, and Agnus Dei: Heritage Mass (Owen Alstott)
Memorial Acclamation: We proclaim your death... from Holy Angels Mass (BMP)

ALLELUIA: Mode VI

The rest...

Entrance hymn: Love divine, all loves excelling ("Hyfrydol") (Listen)
- Same tune as "Alleluia! sing to Jesus!"
Psalm 96: R./ Give the Lord glory and honor (Sam Schmitt)
Offertory hymn: Crown him with many crowns ("Diademata") (Listen)
Communion responsory: How great is your Name, O Lord our God, through all the earth (R./ by Dom Anthony Gregory Murray, OSB, V./ by Pérè Joseph Gelineau, SJ)
- Now there's a collaboration: an English Benedictine and a French Jesuit!  Of course, Joseph Gelineau was probably the last known Jesuit who could write decent music.  After that was the infamous St. Louis Jesuits and their stuff that infiltrated and infested many a hymnal.
Meditation hymn: I sought the Lord ("Artavia") (Listen)
Recessional hymn: Christ is the King ("Gelobt sei Gott") (Listen)
