LAETARE SUNDAY (IV Lent)

Click here for my explanation of Laetare Sunday from two years ago.

MUSIC FOR HOLY MASS

This weekend, we are doing a rare 50/50 split between the two hymnals, using two hymns from the maroon hymnal and two from the red Worship hymnal.

Sung Ordinary of the Mass and Gospel Acclamation: same as previous three Sundays

Entrance hymn: We sing the praise of him who died, Maroon #340
Psalm 137: Let my tongue be silenced if I ever forget you, music by yours truly
Offertory hymn: Hail, thou once-despised Jesus, Maroon #357 (Listen)
- In the listen link given, you will hear the congregation sing different words, but the tune is correct.  One of the easier tunes in that three of the four lines of the hymn use the same melody (AABA).
Communion anthem:
- 5:00 (Sat.) and 11:15: God so loved the world, by Sir John Stainer, from his The Crucifixion.
- 7:30 AM: same, but as an organ instrumental
- 9:00 AM: How Great Thou Art
Meditation hymn: Amazing grace, Worship #583
Recessional hymn: Lift high the cross, Worship, #704

Peace,
BMP
